Ayurveda has remarkable results in improving heart functions and preventing the reoccurrence of heart problems.
We all know that without the heart the body cannot survive, but, did you know that heart is actually a pump?
Yes, the pumping action of the heart makes it the most important organ as it pumps fresh blood throughout the body along with oxygen. And just like any other pump, negligence in maintaining heart is going to result in clogging, stiffness, and ultimately failure. With stress and junk food dominating our current lifestyle, we tend to take this pump for granted and towards disregard its significance leading to numerous heart diseases.
Metabolic syndrome can lead to heart disease
Chronically sluggish metabolism and digestion due to the stress and wrong food for years and years lead to high cholesterol, hypertension, diabetes, obesity especially increased fat in the tummy and thigh areas. If you are having at least three out of four symptoms, then, you are at high risk of getting heart problems. If you are having diabetes and obesity, then you are at 60% risk of having heart problems.
What can you do daily to keep your heart healthy as per Ayurveda?
Avoid consumption of CHANNEL BLOCKING foods such as: –
Sour foods tomatoes, all sour fruits (oranges, pineapples, lemons, grapefruits, any kinds of vinegar, etc.)
Heavy to digest foods such as Maida, red meat – they are hard to digest and increase cholesterol in the body. Avoid Wheat as much as possible.
Fermented or fermentation increasing foods such as yogurt, alcohol, cheese (especially old and hard ones)
Embrace a heart-friendly healthy lifestyle!
- Consume lots of vegetables such as ridge gourd (Turia), bottle gourd (dudhi), ivy gourd (tendli), Snake gourd (padwal), pumpkin, leafy vegetables, etc and proteins such as green gram ( mung), lentils, tofu, millet, rice, barley, etc in your diet as they help dissolve toxins and blockages from the arteries at a fast pace. Your food combination should be 60 per cent vegetables, 30 per cent proteins, and 10 per cent carbohydrates.
- A daily walk for 30-45 minutes will improve the heart functions, help to reduce cholesterol and weight.
Home Remedy for prevention of heart problem :
